About Judith

Judith Weinstock is a chef, teacher, community builder, author, and musician whose work is rooted in a love of people, food, and the natural world.

Judith grew up in the Pacific Northwest, finding joy in roaming the forests of the Cascade and Olympic Mountains and the beaches of the Pacific Ocean with her family. The salt spray, the scent of damp rainforest, the cry of a coyote, and the certainty of belonging to something much larger than herself shaped her understanding of the world.

At seventeen, Judith joined a collectively run restaurant, where she was drawn to economic democracy and shared decision-making. Those early experiences have informed her adult life in business, political activism, and community building.

In 1990, Judith and her husband, David, co-founded an intentional community on the Kitsap Peninsula with eight other families, on the ancestral lands of the Suquamish people. Today, the community continues to thrive, tending gardens and sharing life within walking distance, through the woods, of the Salish Sea.

Judith finds joy in learning, moving her body, cooking, singing, knitting, playing guitar, learning the banjo, writing, reading, building fires, and teaching—especially when asked! Through it all runs her love of co-creating spaces where people can gather.
